What Can I expect?
Each class consists of a warm up, cardio component, strength component, core conditioning and a cooldown/stretch. We teach each exercise with modifications depending on fitness levels and or injuries.
What is Cross training?
Cross training refers to training in different ways to improve overall performance. Cross training is a carefully planned combination of exercises to work various parts of the body (it will change each class). Often one particular activity works certain muscle groups, but not others, cross-training aims to eliminate this. Jogging for example, is excellent for endurance, and prolonged use of the large muscle groups in the legs. A jogger should also lift weights in order to build muscle and increase upper body strength, things that running alone cannot provide.
What is the difference between Cross training and Bootcamp?
By definition Bootcamp is classified as Military Training, and does not offer much variety or fun. Our Cross training program, on the other hand, provides a wide variety of training techniques to enhance strength, improve cardio and have fun while you do it!! We also provide you with education to lead a balanced lifestyle.
What do I need to bring?
Weights (5 - 10lbs), Towel, Mat, Water and a good attitude.
Does it matter if I am not a runner?
Absolutely not, you can speed walk, walk/run, or run. You go at your own pace. More than likely you will be running by the end of the 5 weeks. Classes vary, although a big part of the cardio does involve a run/speed walk...others involve cardio circuits and other fun surprises!!
What level of fitness do I need to be in to join?
The nice thing about Equal Balance Fitness, is you go at your own pace. You are not competing with anyone else. Do your best!
Do classes run when it is raining?
Yes they do, we usually have a location with a covered area, but you still need to dress for the weather for our cardio component.
